San Diego North County, referred to by locals as North County, refers to a region in the northern portion of San Diego County, California.
Definitions vary, but the cities north along Hwy 78, south to Carmel Valley Rd., between I-5 and I-15 are generally considered North County.
These include the coastal communities of Oceanside, Carlsbad, Del Mar, Encinitas, Solana Beach,
Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Del Mar, as well as the inland communities of Bonsall, Fallbrook, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Rancho Bernardo, Scripps Ranch, Valley Center, Poway, Carmel Valley, and Rancho Santa Fe.
